General Education Development

Applications for the GED exam are available at the Learning Center, Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. You must apply in person with a photo ID. There is a $13.00 application fee for persons 21 years and older (veterans are exempt). Proof of age and Connecticut residency must be shown at the time of application. Before taking the exam, applicants are strongly encouraged to join our free preparation classes.

017: GED Preparation Class Get ready for the GED exam, concentrating on math, English and reading. This course also covers writing skills, social studies, mathematics, science, literature, and the arts. Gain the confidence and skills needed to pass this test. Each session runs for 16 weeks at the Learning Center and begins on September 2. You may choose between two different time schedules:
Monday - Thursday: 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. or Tuesday & Thursday: 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Instructors: Staff Teachers GED Program Coordinators: Josephine Rossomando and Myra Thistle
018: Spanish GED Preparation Class Prepare to take the GED test in Spanish. This course covers writing skills, social studies, mathematics, science, literature, and the arts. Classes are held for 14 weeks at the Learning Center beginning on September 9.
