Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)A CNA provides care for individuals with health care needs under the direction of a licensed practical nurse (LPN) or registered nurse (RN). It is an entry-level paraprofessional position in the healthcare industry. Upon successful completion of this 16-week program, the student will be able to sit for the Connecticut Department of Health Nurse Aide Competency Examination. The fee for the state certification exam is included in the tuition cost.

  1. Background screening is mandatory

  2. Drug screening

Requirements for Starting Clinical Classes

  1. A physical exam with a TB skin test (PPD Test)and/or Blood test (Quanteferon Gold Test) Our medical form / your doctor
  2. Scrubs uniforms
  3. Current flu shot
  4. POSSIBLE Covid testing 
  5. A watch with a second hand

During clinical training and testing in class, you will be asked to play the role of a patient.

STATE TESTING: To be eligible for the state test you must pass the course with a 75% or better average and pass all clinical skills The state application cost is included in the tuition. The test is taken after graduation.

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: A basic reading screening test and a brief interview are mandatory. There is a $35 non refundable fee for testing and application.
