For individuals admitted to Middlesex Community College and whom the college considers transitional students, Wallingford Adult Education offers a weekend college that is part of a package providing a three-credit Freshman Seminar as well as Math and/or English noncredit Fast Track Workshops. The workshops run 10 weeks for 30 hours each and are usually conducted on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings.
- The Fast-Track Math Workshop is designed to help students refresh their skills in arithmetic and elementary algebra concepts. At the end of the workshop, students may retake the placement test to progress to a course that is College Level or College Level with Embedded Support.
- The Reading-Writing Workshop is designed to help students refresh their skills in essay writing, grammar, and reading comprehension. The workshop is beneficial to students who wish to retake a placement test to see if they can progress to College Level or College Level with Embedded Support.
- Freshman Seminar introduces diverse academic content, emphasizing learning strategies and critical thinking skills in preparation for more rigorous college study. Topics to be covered include introductory lectures on social sciences, natural/physical sciences, mathematics, humanities, business, and career opportunities.
